This webinar will address the intersection between biodiversity and agricultural production, highlighting how the integration of ecological principles into production systems can enhance sustainability and profitability. It will emphasize the need to design multifunctional agricultural landscapes that balance production with ecosystem conservation. Key initiatives and tools for data-driven decision-making will be presented, such as DAT CREA, a collaborative digitization project that gathers information on the management of crop production plots in a homogeneous and traceable database. The TATU Platform (Transdisciplinary for Agriculture and its Transitions in Uruguay) will also be introduced, an initiative that facilitates the transformation of information into accessible knowledge. These tools allow for improved understanding and monitoring of sustainability, promoting strategic decisions, transparency, collaboration, and innovation in the agricultural sector.

Panelist:

  • Dr. Lucas Alejandro Garibaldi – Director of the Institute for Research in Natural Resources, Agroecology, and Rural Development (IRNAD) (UNRN-CONICET).
